WHITEWATER VALLEY RAILROAD MERIT BADGE CAMPOREE
1. Each person will be required to fill out a special RR form for each person attending the camporee.. Click Here to see form, Click here for a PDF file of the same form. Please turn in Friday night at registration. Each needs to signed by his parent or guardian if a minor. 2. Each unit will need to bring and turn in on Friday night at registration a blue merit badge card properly filled out and signed by the scoutmaster for each scout. 3. Each scout will get a booklet on the camporee for them to use and study from for the test on Sunday. These will be given out Friday night during check in. This will be theirs to keep. 4. We will be camping in a public campground that has people living at. All scouts must remain in the camping area and not be allowed to wonder off. No one should be in any persons campsite at any time. You must make this clear to everyone in your unit that they will be expected to stay out of anyone's campsite. There is no store or anything for them in the parks so they have no reason to be out of the scout area. Because this is a public campground consider your tents unsecured and do not leave ANYTHING valuable in them while you are away from camp. Keep all valuables locked in your vehicle. It also can be seen by the public so keep everything out of sight! Keep tents zipped and doors closed on all tents when you are not in them. 5. River is off limits. Depending on the weather the river can be very dangerous. So please make sure your adults are in control of your scouts. All units must have adults with them at all times Saturday and Sunday. 6. Every unit must bring toilet paper with them, being a public park it will run out sometime during the weekend so be aware and bring more then you think you will need. Have them bring it back to their campsite if it is left in restrooms it will be gone. 7. Camping will be tight, so make sure you only bring the minimum amount of tents and they are full. You will have more space for your dinning fly's and such if you have limited amount of tents. We are going to try and have space for your unit trailers in your campsite. 8. We suggest you have fires off the ground due to clean up and space.. 9. ALL PARKING OF CARS AND TRUCKS WILL BE IN AREA ONE. 10. Water is available throughout the campground and at the shelter house in the middle of the campground where headquarters will be. 11. We are going to have a Priest for Services. Church 12. Test will be scored by each Scoutmaster and the merit badge cards will be given to him and he will hand them out to the scouts who pass the merit badge. If the scouts pay attention to the review done on the train before the test is given they should have no problem with the test. 13. Lunches, we suggest you put all your lunches for Saturday in a cooler and bring them on the train with you. Your can meet as a unit and eat on train Saturday. 14. Sunday we suggest each person carry their lunches with them on the train you can bring a cooler if nessary it would be better if you don't. There will be limited places to purchase their lunches I am sure it will be costly, 15. Uniforms/dress: Saturday I would suggest unit t-shirt and blue jeans, Sunday Full Class A if you have them. Class A is scouts shirt and scout pants. Don't wear Jeans on Sunday. 16. We can use some help around 4 pm Friday directly units into the camping area if you would like to help, we would appreciate it, contact webmaster if you can. Scouts (Youth) are welcome to help also! 17. Each unit will be assigned a station to start at there are 21 stations, and you will rotate to the next number higher.
